Sept. 2007

On Tuesday, September 17th, the Baltimore Immigration Memorial Foundation hosted an invitation-only harbor cruise for a select group of current and prospective Immigration Project partners and supporters. The boat was generously provided by the Maryland Port Administration. The cruise departed from the finger piers on the west shore of the Inner Harbor.

From approximately 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm guests aboard the boat joined other invitees at Tide Point—adjacent to the Locust Point piers, at which nearly a million immigrants once arrived—for a reception and tour of the Immigration Gateway Heritage Park site. Following brief remarks by key players at the BIM, project concepts were presented.

Stay tuned... other fundraising events will be scheduled soon! We will also post dates, times and locations for Baltimore's many ethnic heritage festivals as they approach.

Walking tours every Saturday...

In partnership with The Society for the Preservation of Federal Hill and Fell’s Point, the BIM is now offering walking tours of sites and locations relevant to the immigrant experience. Tours are offered on Saturdays at 12:30 PM. For full information about these entertaining and educational tours, go to the walking tours page of this web site.
